Privacy Policy

The registry holds personal dedications, so the boundary between what is public and what is private is deliberate. This page explains it.

1. Who we are

Meridian Celestial Registry operates the MCR Celestial Registration Database and is the controller of the personal information described here.

2. What we collect

Order details: email address, optional name, chosen package, requested star name, dedication, recipient and sender names, and special dates.

Account details: if you create an account, your email address, name and sign-in credentials are handled by our authentication provider.

Payment details: card payments are processed by our payment provider. We never receive or store full card numbers. We record only the provider's identifiers, amount, currency and status.

Technical details: standard server logs needed to operate the service and prevent abuse.

3. What we publish

Registry search shows a registration's MCR number, star name, catalogue designation, constellation, coordinates and registration date. A dedication and recipient name appear only if the owner leaves the registration public, and the certificate is shown publicly only if the owner explicitly allows it.

We never publish customer email addresses, payment information, billing details or account data.

4. Your controls

From My Registrations you can make a registration private, hide the public certificate, and edit the dedication. Share links you distribute are under your control and can be revoked by making the registration private.

5. Retention

Registration records are retained permanently as part of the registry archive. Order and payment records are retained as required for accounting and dispute handling.

6. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal and accounting obligations. Use the contact page and include your MCR registration or order number.
